2024 NORTH VALLEY STUDIO TOUR

SATURDAY & SUNDAY | SEPTEMBER 21 & 22 | 10AM - 5PM

It all began with an idea to bring local artists together.

Alameda artist Jeff Potter founded the Alameda Studio Tour in 2011, bringing local artists together for an exciting collaborative outreach.  In the first year, 25 artists from the far North Valley opened their studios to the public, inspiring, educating and offering their work for sale. Sadly, Jeff passed away in 2015; however, his vision lives on.  The popular event grew each year to include artists with studios in the neighboring Village of Los Ranchos and further south — all dedicated to sharing the beauty of art in Albuquerque’s North Valley.

The North Valley Studio Tour now encompasses artist studios from historic Candelaria Road, through Los Ranchos, all the way up to the northern end of the village of Alameda.  As you wind your way through the heart of the valley, take time to appreciate the mix of history, agriculture, and commerce that makes this area unique.  The side streets, such as Guadalupe Trail, will lead you to narrow dirt and gravel roads with rustic adobe houses, horse and llama pastures, apple orchards and brilliant green alfalfa. These fields are fed by a historic network of acequias, a natural haven where you can walk in the shade of ancient cottonwoods. Back on the main roads, like 4th Street, you’ll find a delightfully eclectic mix of antique shops, feed stores, plant nurseries, restaurants, small industry, and breweries.

Nestled within the rural beauty are the studios of many artisans eager to share their creativity.  These include traditional and abstract painters, sculptors, fiber artists, print makers, weavers, ceramicists, jewelers, glass artists, and more.  Come join us to share in the diversity of artisans and the natural, historic beauty of the North Valley that make this such a memorable tour.
