I use color and light to express the magic and majesty of the natural world. I am interested in how the landscape changes constantly under the vibrant light of the western sky. I am also fascinated by the more intimate, tended landscapes of farms and gardens, including my own.

As an ardent naturalist and birder, I have traveled throughout the Americas, Australia, and Africa, recording my observations in plein air watercolors. The watercolors and photos often become source material for oil paintings of birds and plants developed back in the studio.
